Over the past 30 years, Russell Washer’s creative leadership has established WHLC Architecture as a distinguished regional firm recognized for its excellence in design services. With over 37-years of architectural experience, Russell’s background ranges from complex and highly technical projects to carefully detailed residences.

Russell’s expertise is the programming and design of projects combining his natural tendency to consider the “big picture” with his attention to detail. This translates into successful projects that are cohesive and concept driven yet responsive to logistical and functional concerns.

With a distinct interest in the economics of each project, Russell has often ensured that a client’s business is more successful after a project is completed. Russell considers the client’s business objectives before beginning design so that the architecture will enhance their goals. He has been instrumental in the design, sales, and promotion of many multi-unit condominium projects on the Gulf Coast.

He values relationships, and his firm reflects it. WHLC has a history of long-term relationships with clients and contractors and has grown from its main office in Baton Rouge to branch offices in Fairhope, AL and Biloxi, MS.

In addition to his responsibilities as WHLC President, Russell’s oversees the development strategy, programming, design, and marketing of large-scale projects.
