Cajun Coast Welcome Center

Designed for the Cajun Coast Visitors & Convention Bureau, the new Welcome Center will serve as an engaging, tourism resource for the unique environmental and cultural amenities of the area. The two-story, 7,500 sf center provides a thematic focal point for facilitating direct tourist interaction with the area’s unique character, scenic beauty, and attractions.

Conceived and sited to evoke the rich storyline of the regional environment, visitors enter across a bridge leading to a 5,000 sf terrace nestled within the natural cypress swamp. Under a Creole-style wrap-around hip roof, the featured Great Room provides panoramic views into the swamp setting. The Welcome Center provides administrative offices, meeting rooms, information distribution displays, and exhibit space for delivering a first-hand experience with the special character of the Coastal Louisiana region.
