Baton Rouge General Medical Center – Bluebonnet
Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Designed as an alternative to a traditional hospital, this 102-bed hospital captures the feeling of a fine hotel. Carefully detailed and expertly crafted, the medical center is a result of years of research into the medical market. WHL worked closely with hospital staff to design a facility that successfully integrates the highly technical aspects of modern medicine into a patient-friendly environment.

Designed to accommodate the ever-changing medical market, this project has adapted well since its completion in 1994. Currently, WHL is the architect for the expansion of this project resulting in a 200-bed acute-care hospital.

In addition to being selected by the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health as an outstanding design, this medical center has been honored with awards for excellence in architecture, landscape and lighting, and has been published nationally and internationally.
